Lana's poetry
Lana Del Rey is also a poet. In 2020 she published her first book of poems, “Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass”, accompanied by a spoken album with music by Jack Antonoff. Some characteristics of her poetry are the use of natural, vintage and spiritual images; issues of vulnerability, unrequited love, identity, fame; she writes in a freestyle, without using to rigid structures or formats. Her work has been influenced by Sylvia Plath, Bob Dylan, Marilyn Monroe, Violet Trefusis, Diana Spencer, Virginia Woolf.
